Student Conference & Competition Funding Request

Requirements:

  1. Requests can only be completed by school staff.
  2. Trips must be tied to student academic and social emotional success and the Acceleration 2020 Strategic Plan.
  3. All trips must follow the MPS Field Trip policy (click for policy and please note: no trip can have only one chaperone).
  4. There must be enough Chaperones assigned to meet the minimum standard required by the Field Trip Policy.
  5. Funds for additional chaperons (over the minimum requirement) and for replacement staff while staff are on trips WILL NOT be covered by these funds.
  6. All Chaperones must have completed and passed a background check or have a current one on file with the district before the trip takes place. It is the responsibility of the school to ensure and monitor this.

Approval Process:

  1. Funds are provided to schools/departments when the meet the above requirements and are approved by the principal and Associate Superintendent or Director supporting the school/department. Depending on the nature of the trip/competition, schools may be reimbursed upon completion of trip and by providing the proper paperwork for reimbursement.
  2. The Associate Superintendent or Directors role is to monitor and ensure that there is equity in access to and participation in these funds across the schools/departments in their portfolio.
